NOTRE DAME MEN'S crew PROGRAM
Notre Dame Crew became a varsity Sport in the Spring of 2021. The vision to bring yet another varsity sport at Notre Dame is a commitment to our core values as an institution of developing and educating young minds. We partnered with Star Rowing Center in Derby, CT to innovate and transform our program. From the commitment of the coaching staff we rose to a varsity level team. Coaches continue to emphasize teamwork, work ethic, and collaboration to become just a bit better each day. Our athletes practice daily on a continuous basis. Practices have a duration of two hours, six days a week, and include Saturdays. Notre Dame Crew competes in various US Rowing Regattas all over the nation through out the Spring and Fall Seasons.
The coaching staff at Star Rowing Center has a combined experience of 50+ years. Their knowledge and expertise in the sport of rowing has led many of their athletes to top Universities and prestigious Colleges such as Yale, Harvard, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, Princeton, Columbia, Stanford, Cal, MIT, Northeastern, Syracuse University; and the list goes on... Florian Tudor and Dobrita Preda have competed at the highest level in the Olympic Games, World Championships, and multiple International Regattas. Their dedication to excellence in the sport of rowing and an everlasting commitment to shape young minds and athletes has led many to excel to their absolute best. Star Rowing Center competed at the prestigious 2022 US Rowing Youth National Championship in Sarasota, Florida. The value and quality that Star Rowing Center brings as a training facility and the expertise of its staff has excelled Notre Dame to become an established program.
