After a 12 year hiatus from the Notre Dame swim program, Ken Pierson returned in 2021 to take the reins with the hopes of bringing the program back to the highest level. Ken coached the Green Knights from 1987-2009 accumulating a record of 192-110-2, including 3 state championships. In addition, Ken helped to produce 9 All-Americans, 50 All-Staters, and 20 state championship swimmers during his tenure as head coach. Ken, a 1980 graduate of Notre Dame, was the captain of the ND swim team and state champion in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Coach Pierson has been named Coach of the Year 10 times by various publications and organizations.
