Larry Vieira took over as ND bench boss in 2018. Vieira has won 414 games over a 34-year career coaching at the high school level in Connecticut. He coached Branford High School from 1983-2009 before moving on to a two-year stint at Darien High School. He then spent one season as the goalie coach at Manhattanville College before spending the last six years at New Fairfield-Immaculate. Twenty-nine of his teams have qualified for the CIAC state tournament. A goalie in his playing days, Vieira was a walk-on, across the street at the University of New Haven, an NCAA Division II hockey program at the time, from 1978-1982. A longtime educator at West Haven High School, Vieira was named the 2000 Connecticut Gatorade High School Coach of Year. More recently, Larry was named the Boys Ice Hockey 2023 SCC/SWC Division I Coach of the Year. |
