Planning for Your Notre dame Student Visit Day

Arrival and Check In: Please plan to arrive at 7:30 a.m. (Please note the building will not be open prior to 7:30a.m.)  Students may enter through the Main Entrance, where our Admission Team will greet you and get you checked in for your visit. Details about parking and arrival will be included in your confirmation email, the week of your visit date. 

Breakfast: Students will enjoy a complimentary breakfast with Notre Dame Student Ambassadors, faculty and administrators. Light snacks and water will be provided. If your child has any dietary restrictions or food allergies, they are welcome to bring their own breakfast & snacks. 

Parent Meet & Greet: There will be an optional Parent Meet and Greet Session from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. We invite parents to join us for Coffee and Conversations with current ND Parents and Notre Dame Administrators from different departments. 

Student Dress Code: Students should be in appropriate, modest attire. Please note that the following are not permitted: hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, cropped clothing, slippers, or open-toed shoes.

End of Day Pick Up: The student program will conclude at 10:30 a.m. Students can be picked up at the main entrance of the building. The Admission Team will walk families outside through the main entrance for pick up. Parents do not need to come back into the building.

If my child signs up with a friend, will they be together throughout the visit?

Yes! We encourage students to sign up on the same date as their peers. All prospective students will be together throughout the visit.

Will Notre Dame provide a letter to excuse my child’s absence or tardiness to school on the date of the visit?

Yes, the Admission Team will give each visiting student a letter to excuse their absence or tardiness to school on the date of the visit and confirm the student attended a High School Visit at Notre Dame. If any additional documentation is required by your child’s middle school our team will be happy to provide it.

What does my child need to bring with them?

Everything your child will need will be provided by Notre Dame. Student’s are welcome to bring their own water bottle, a jacket/ fleece (quarter zip or crewneck sweatshirt), and their own snack/ breakfast if desired.

If my child knows a current student at ND can we request they be together for the visit day?

The Student Visit Days will be staffed by current ND Student Ambassadors. If you would like to request to be with a specific Notre Dame student, please email the admissions team at [email protected].

Will my child get to work alongside current Notre Dame Student’s?

Yes! The Student Visit Days provide prospective student’s an opportunity to have an authentic student to student visit experience. Current Notre Dame Student Ambassadors will work alongside visiting students to showcase what a school day at Notre Dame is like.

What are examples of the academic workshops that students will participate in?

The academic workshops will include but are not limited to: Sports, Exercise and Health Sciences courses, Engineering Courses, Modern and Classical Language Courses, Business Courses, Theory of Knowledge Courses, Music Demonstrations, Campus Ministry activities, and more!

Is there an opportunity for parents to get questions answered and meet with Notre Dame Administrators?

Yes! We invite parents to join us following drop off from 7:45am – 8:15am in the President’s Suite for Coffee and Conversations with Current ND Parents, and ND Administrators. We want to meet you and answer your questions as your family explores ND and the high school search!
