NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL'S BEQUEST LANGUAGE

Making a provision in your will for Notre Dame High School is a simple process. Such bequests can be included in your will at its creation or added or updated later by means of a codicil, a type of addendum. There are different ways to make gifts to Notre Dame through your will, with varying tax consequences depending on the method you choose. The simplest and most popular approach is an outright bequest.

Below are two versions of the wording you can use when writing a charitable bequest to us:

1. For gifts to Notre Dame High School of West Haven, Inc.:

"I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to Notre Dame High School of West Haven, Inc, Federal Tax ID #06-0646748 [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose."

2. For gifts to the Notre Dame Loyalty and Endowment Fund, Inc. for scholarships/financial aid or for general educational purposes:

"I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to the Notre Dame Loyalty and Endowment Fund, Inc, Federal Tax ID # 22-2566751 [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for restricted use for scholarship/financial aid for deserving students or for unrestricted use and purpose.
