Joe DeCaprio was announced as Notre Dame’s head football coach on December 11, 2016. He replaced long-time head coach Tom Marcucci ‘66, who retired after the 2016 season. It was the late 1990’s and Coach DeCaprio was leading a normal life, working for ATT/Comcast, about to get married and start a family but, he knew something was missing. Teaching, coaching, and football were what was missing. DeCaprio went back to school and got his teaching certification, and now teaches business courses at Notre Dame. He started as a volunteer assistant coach climbing the ladder to offensive coordinator, where he helped guide Notre Dame’s offensive attack to playoff berths in five of the last eight seasons. |
